IMC Lupins exist all over the Known World. I dont use
all the different subraces (for Lupins or Rakastas),
but they have been retrofitted into most countries of
the Known World IMC.

More and more are also coming into Karameikos as that
country has plenty of Werewolves for them to chase.

Including these two races makes Mystara quite a bit
different from the other fantasy settings, which is
good. I think I will keep the Torles in the background
though, to keep some credit among my players..

Subject: Re: Nightmare dimension

Here is the Gold Box information in detail: (reading a little of Stephen
Hawkings work would be helpful also!)

The Multiverse is made of many dimensions, begining with the Three known
ones plus a forth perceived only by the Immortals (which would be akin to
Eisnteisn Relative Theory about folding space, as immortals can se this
dimension they can teleport at will). Some creatures started from the First
Dimension (point) and to other (plane) and other (3D): the normal people.
However the immortals perceived that there other creatures which stopped way
back at the first or only second dimensions! Anyway, being themselves beings
of the forth dimension, and who have been of the Third before, they were
thinking if there could be not another, a Fifth dimension! and this proved
to be true: The Dimension of Nightmares exists by the 5th,4th a 3rd
dimensions. Immortals can perceive four dimensions at once, so when they
chose to forget transcende the first one they discovered the region of
Nightmares, so called because it was trully radically diferent from the
other dimensions. As the latter two dimensions are called "imaginary" by
humans, in their ignorance they named the 5th, Nightmare.

The dimensions fucntion like this:
1st - Measures lentgh and distance between two points, and thus has a
beggining and an end.
2nd - Measures breadth and direction of the object in the first dimension.
3rd - Measures volume and magnetude of size.
4th - (Immortals perceive it) Defines the relation between two objects,
finding all points of congruencies and silmilarities.
5th - Measures the unique nature or essence of an object in relation to all
others, or divergence.

That is why they put the 5th dimension like a Chaotic one. But the immortals
noted that no creature yet was found to be borne from the 2,3 or 4
dimensions on, why such an importance on the 5th, which spawns life?Perhaps
the five dimesions and the five spheres are related...beyond all dimesions
lies the Barrier. No Immortal can pass ahead of it.

Also (My input here) the 5th dimension has a lot to do with Phenomenology,
Personalism and Sartre, Husserl, Merleau-Ponty and other such writers, at
least based on what the box said about Essences, etc...
------------------

Concluding, there is much more discussion on perception in the different
Dimensions, and walking about them. It is very interesting, and in fact the
Gold Box is worth seraching for my friend!

Hope i have helped, JJJ

Man, I'd love to go this year, but my budget has already been allocated
towards unimportant things, like a house, living expenses, and so forth. :-(

Still, I was lucky enough to go in 2001, and I had a blast! My suggestion
is to seek out Gary Gygax (if he's attending) - he's very friendly, and
will be more than happy to chat for a few minutes. Also, be sure to pick
up all those OD&D modules - I got a bunch of them for a very good price.

You will NOT regret going! :-)

Dang! I'd hoped to see you there again this year... maybe next year. The way
the dollar is going it should be a great deal for you then! :(

I will be there the whole show. I'll be helping out at the Scrye booth
part-time.

<<My suggestion is to seek out Gary Gygax (if he's attending) - he's very

Gary won't be there this year; he will be a guest of honor at the Milwaukee
Game Fest, which is being held in August at the Midwest Express Center
(where Gen Con used to be held). I will be running a Lejendary Adventures
session at Gen Con, though I can't recall the day off hand. And before
anyone asks, it will be Lejendary Earth, not Mystara... (^_^)

I might get a chance to run some HackMaster: HackWurld of Mystaros,
informally, if I can get enough interest...

<<Also, be sure to pick up all those OD&D modules - I got a bunch of them

Gen Con is THE place to find all that OD&D/Mystara stuff you are looking
for, that is for sure. I don't know if they will have an auction this year
or not, though...

<<You will NOT regret going! :-)>>

Definitely not! I've been going just about every year since 1983 (missed
only three of them in all that time), and every year is new and remarkable!
This year will be especially so, as it is the first in the new location,
which, ideally, will handle everything much, much better than the old
location. I'll miss the ambiance of Milwaukee (especially the ethnic
restaurants) but the better set up should help balance things out...

Some friends, my wife and I are going to GenCon too. We went last
year and had a blast. I'm glad we went too since it was the last year
in Milwaukee, but we also wanted to be there for the first one in
Indianapolis.

I'm a long time Mystara nut and lurker on this list. It would be
great to get together with some other Mystarans while we're there.

Let's plan something.
