I really did not know that they were still in business. I think my first order was back when they had the old AOL based site. The only trouble I have had from them was when they began using their own domain, the site was down for a while during the transition. I haven't bought anything from them in some time. Still, I cannot recall anything bad about their service. But then again, back then it was pretty cut and dry. Anyway, I hope everything works out. ::Lurker Mode Reactivated:: ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Nov 2003 05:34:42 EST From: Alex Benson Subject: Re: images of Mystara coins It's been awhile, but at one time there was talk of implementing coins within the Nace kingdoms, much like the current trend in US State Quarters. For the non-Americans, these quarters all share the same face but their backs depict one of the individual states. I belive that there is a basis for this in DotE, and the almanac was merely updating the coins to compensate for the sinking/transport of the Alpher continent to HW and the creation of Nayce. I haven't been with the almanac staff for some time now, and the truth be told, I haven't really read the ones that have been produced after my departure. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Nov 2003 17:09:52 -0800 From: Joaquin Menchaca Subject: Re: New design for Mystara.fr.st check it out! Um... I don't think that the word awesome justifies what I think. This overall design is just amazing. I am incredibly impressed. I see that you are currently developing maps. Would you be interested in making high-quality maps, which can be exported into SVG, PDF, and PNG (or JPG)? I was thinking of using a combination of Illustrator and Freehand. I know in the later, one can download for a 30-day trial. I thought of making general hexacons for mountains, cities, hills, forests, etc. If a set of hexacons could be created, everyone could re-use them to make high-quality maps. Also, people could create different alternate sets of hexacons. For example, one could create old-style Gazetteer hexacons, while another can use the newer boxed Gazetteer hexacons. Another more graphically inclined could create set (minus the actual hex) to craete more natural maps. Lastly, I could script little perl-xml tools to auto-generate maps, and also switch out the hexacon sets to auto-create different styles of maps. The only tricky part comes with the shore-lines, which would have to be handcrafted, until a way can be devised handle these. Also, there's the possibility of replacing the hexacons with another set of hexacons, and having the map (automatically) map to the new set through tools - Joaquin __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
