It's been a while since I've read that one, but his
Immortality was a little odd, as I recall- didn't he
end up sacrificing himself and his immortality somehow
by the end of the trilogy?

Well, he ended up locked in an eternal battle with
Dayin the Half-Abelaat who by then had become a living
gateway to the Abelaat Dimension (which I assume to be
the Dimension of Nightmares).

I'm not sure that neccesarily prevents him from say,
providing spells to worshippers though. Although I'd
imagine most of his Power Points are spent in his
battle with Dayin.

This would also lighten up the otherwise Über-sad tone
of the trilogy, which would do alot of good I think.

Eventually, perhaps some other Immortals, possibly
from the council of intrusion would step in and help
Flinn, since it afterall is their resposibility to
prevent such invasions. But I guess at the time they
were tied up in events related to the Wrath of the
Immortals.

Personally, I think Immortal is a bit too much, maybe he should be only a
Saint/Hero of Penhaligon and of the Church of Thyatis, probably under Odin
or Tarastia?

He is specifically described as an immortal though.
Also, the concept of Hero Worship is more linked with
the Church of Traldara and IMHO Flinn would definately
be counted with the Church of Karameikos. In the
beginning of book two, I'd say he is an Exalted (Titan
or similar), but by the end of Book Three he should be
considered a fully fledged immortal.

I'm not saying this would have to happen in everyone's
campaigns though. I am mostly interested in what stats
he would have.

I am thinking an Initiate of Thought or Matter. For 3E
Domains Strength, Law and Good perhaps?

Well, it depends what things you would consider his
trials. He is already a legendary hero by the time the
first novel begins. Through that novel, he once again
proves his honor, glory, courage and faith, but when
he confronts his ancient enemy, the Dragon Verdilith,
he is killed. It is his apprentice Johauna who
eventually confronts and kills Verdilith.

However, in the second book, Flinn is back. At that
time he is already described as an immortal, but I
think at that moment he is probably only raised to
Exalted level by Thor. However, through the second
novel, he travels with his friend, Braddock the
Dwarven Cleric (Who hates Kagyar for some reason), and
discovers the Demihuman Relics, one by one, gaining
some of their power. By the end he is powerful enough
to stop Dayin who has been consumed by the artifact
known as the Abaton, making the young wizard a living
Gateway into the Dimension of Abelaats. Flinn is
allowed a bried reunion with his love, Johauna before
he becomes locked in eternal combat with Dayin,
keeping the Abelaats out untill Judgement Day.
