I am intrigued by the campaign Setting of Dark Sun. I would have everything ready, both issues of Dragon and Dungeon, but neither one has a timeline of events in the world! If someone would provide a timeline, it would be greatly appreciated. I, above all other famous events, wish to know a.) when Rajaat discovered Arcane Magic, and b.) when he was imprisoned, an c.) when Athas became a vast desert.

This is the html version of the Timeline, and this is the rtf version.

May wanna fix that HTML link, Penn; it has a spelling error.

Meanwhile, you can use this one here.

As to the dates you mentioned:

- Rajaat works on the creation of arcane magic from -8352 FY to -8144 FY; on the second date he discovers the basics.

- Rajaat is imprisoned in -2000 FY.

- The Blue Age ends in -14003 FY. This can be considered the start of the desertification process. It continues from -8144 FY onwards due to the discovery and use of arcane magic; specifically, defiling magic. Every little bit hurds.

I can't fix the link, that adress is the exact one my browser gives me when I open the page from my favorites.

It's because you have it cached. Here is the actual link, but it's an rtf, not an html file.

The Dungeon and Dragon mags are NOT everything- those articles are very abbreviated and also set about 300 years in the future from the original boxed set.

If you really want to experience the real Dark Sun, I would suggest you click on this link to Athas.org.

You can also get some of the original material in PDF format from RPG Now. This is the 2e material but it is great for information and original flavor. And I would also suggest buying the Dark Sun novels. Half.com and other on-line stores still sell them, though they are mostly used.

Have fun.

Amazon has the novels for dirt cheap. Just got my copy of RaFoaDK today, and it's even in good shape!
