Hello everyone...I need to ask a favor.

Has anyone out their played the Star Cairn adventure? We are currently running it, but before we get to the second book..the Lyzandred one...me and my friends (not our characters) need to figure out how to find the next set of Cairns...we know it has something to do with the Rune pairs...and I think I'm on the right track..but any help with clues would be appreciated.

We can use any resource short of the adventure itself.....so HELP...please!

Eh, I would have thought that it was your characters who needed to solve the problem :P

I won't spoil it for you. Suffice it to say your PC need a map of the region, someone with good orientation skills, and a wee bit of imagination ;)

Ya, we have a little bit of a break before the next gaming session...so I think he was hoping we could figure it out before then...we'll probably be able to do more next session.

I'm pretty sure one of the runes stands for an oasis....and if they are symbols of the area then I may have an easier time than I thought.

Thanks again.

At one time, my players wanted to explore these. I didn't have access to the modules or downloadable sources, this was several years ago, so I just made it up. Four of the cairns are marked on most GH maps and I just set the fifth one further away along the "star" axis, as if the star shape had one point much longer than the other four. Stick clues for finding the fifth, or mechanisms for revealing it, into the other four, add some secret burial chambers with appropriate undead challenges and you're all set.

Methink that was a player asking, not a DM. Thus telling him to 'make up' the location of the last cairn wouldn't help ;)
