Hi Folks,

Sorry for a bit of crossposting here, but I've been wanting to use Leroy Van Camp III's 3e ship combat and construction rules for building out my Eberron airships (and other elemental craft).

I used the rules a few years ago for my Mystara-space campaign, and like them alot. However now that I'm re-reading them all, I've found a few things I'm thinking about changing, and I'd love it if anyone familiar with the system could give me some guidance.

1) AC/Attack modifiers for ship size. These are fine if you're running ship to ship combat, but I what happens when you have ship to creature combat? The size modifiers are all off. I'm thinking of just using normal size modifiers and extending them upward for the ships. That means that there are 4 sizes larger than Collosal (immense, enormous, gigantic, and titanic?). This has the effect of reducing all ship ACs, but it's something I think I can live with.

2) I'm going to be adding new materials to the materials list. Soar wood is a must, but I'm not sure how to make that material differ from normal wood. (For the non-Eberron savvy Soar Wood is basically a lighter than air wood that most air ships are constructed of. I'm thinking of less hit points or hardness than normal wood, but perhaps and increase to AC (representing increased maneuverability?). Or perhaps just saying that vessels made entirely from soar wood gain 1 maneuverability class?

3) I'm also toying with the idea that different forms of propulsion will modify the vessel in some way. Perhaps a bound air elemental ring will increase maneuverability class while a bound fire elemental ring will increase speed. Not sure.

I'd really appreciate any feedback you guys have to offer. Thanks.
