I am started a new game, set in the Dragonlance world, just after the Chronicles book series. The campagein will be low magic (ie - no +1 or +2 weapons, but the weapons that do exist are fairly strong) and the group will consist of an older cleric, a human mage, a rogue (not sure what race), a dwarven fighter and my character a Knight of Solamnia.

I'll be starting at the 4th level, my abilities aren't assigned yet but the values are 13, 18, 17, 13, 16, 11. And help/suggestions with classes, pretige classes, value assignment, and equipment to buy would be great.

Thanks

What orders are you looking to advance through?

Order of the Crown obviously, I'd like to get pretty high in that class. Maybe a few levels in the Sword as well, not depends how long this game goes on for.

If you are aiming for Knight of the Sword . go cleric 4 taking the war domain giving you weapon focus long sword. then one or two levels of knight of the crown then entering knight of the sword. if you plan on entering KotR you need to keep track of your feats since the prc is feat heavy

Knight of the crown you can enter a few ways. fighter 4 will get you a good amount of extra feats. ranger 1 fighter 2 will get you favored enimies knights of neraka and tracking also entering knight of the crown one level earlier. if your dm allows it go fighter 1 paladin 2 entering KotC earlier with charisma to your saves allowing double bonus if you are able to get all 10 levels of kotc.

if you want better sugestions and paths you can take hit up the Co Op boards and give them an idea of what you want with your stats . they can set you up a path on the best way you should advance your character. more for effectivness and not Rp value though.

Shoot anytime someone decides to play a Knight of Solomnia theres a heck of a lot of roleplaying involved. Now as somewhat of an optimizer myself I would say Cleric4/Crown3/Sword3/Rose10 is about the best Solomnic Knight you can get at +18 BAB and cleric caster level 17, plus a whole slew of abilitys.

I thought KoC had a base attack of +4. You can't get that wih 4 lvls of cleric. Although I could be wrong. I have one (converted from 2e) and I had to go 3 cleric and 3 paladin to get what i needed to become a KoC. Please (and i am serious about this) correct me if I'm wrong, and let me know where I might have messed up.

Thanks,

Requirements are BAB +3, Fort save +4. You may have switched them around when you looked it up, which is fairly common. You can meet the prerequisites of a Crown knight with a fighter 1/paladin 2 (+1 BAB and +2 Fort from the fighter, +2 BAB and +3 Fort from the paladin) but paladins aren't really the best choice for Sword knights, if that's where you're headed, since they have poor Will saves. Some people house-rule the latter, though.

Cheers,
Cam

Actually, now that i look at it. I truely believe I had to have the 3 cleric and 3 paladin to be able to take KoS. The character was a KoS in 2e and I had to work to make it so for 3.e. But since the character was only 8th lvl to begin with, well I had to really work to make it "fit" (if you know what I mean).

Thanks for the help though.
