Introverted Mind
"I used to be like you, focussed on destruction and power. Martial prowess does not give you true power however, nor is the power which one gets through defiling acceptable either...Focus onto yourself my son and you will find true power and peace." - Keltis (Oronis), The First Avangion.

Many Psychic warriors are content with focussing on living side by side with their weapon. Empowering their already formidable abilities of psionics to something near that of their Psionicist brethren. However, they seem to abandon their former focus of martial life, and focus inwardly, into their own minds.

Love the PrC, and it was what I was suggesting on the other post..... there is one problem though. From the fluff as far as we can tell there is nothing pointing towards Keltis being martial at all as a champion. The few refferences to him describe him using powers of the mind and spells alone. And he was not one of the champions gifted with a sword by rajaat by any of the records.

One of the main reasons we used psychic warrior for Hamanu and Borys was they were both shown to be martial champions and had special swords to make them more potent. Keltis would more likely be a psion/wizard/cerebramancer (possibly other PrC's)

Hey Malniemel- good job! It could use some additional polish on the format and stuff and I would be willing to help you out if you would like, I PMed you my e-mail address if you would like to take me up on it- just send me the word document and I will make the fixes ;) .

Oh ya- there is no reason to give me any credit on the build or anything- I was just giving you some helpful suggestions- This baby is all your and you should get the credit (and or the blame :D ). But thanks anyway.

I love the whole idea, the prestige class, the idea that Keltis was a psychic warrior, all of it. While I know there is no fluff reason for it, i just have an easier time seeing an honorable psychic warrior/defiler having a change of heart then a straight wizard/psion.

Good Job:D

Maybe it's just me, but it seems odd to require only 3rd level powers to enter the class, but then to learn powers of up to 5th level with 1 level in the PrC. I know you'd have to be a level 10 psychic warrior to start this class and 10th level psychic warriors already access 4th level powers, but it still seems weird.

Beautiful.....

The PrC needs a little polish, but the artistic side of it, both written and pictured, is beautiful.

I'm sure Kal can help you out. He's a good guy to work with.

Truthfully i did not expect this much appreciation. Thank you for all of the kind comments, constructive criticism, and offers for help.

Fluff does need to be addressed however, i do not feel i have enough "umph" behind this prestige class as it was quickly made while under the influence of being quite ill. The class abilities are what i feel...lacking of "unique-ness" and i am planning on fixing this now that i have more time to do such. The feats i feel are a sorry substitute which i thought wouldn't be too overpowering...or even verging on broken. Mechanics wise...i think it pans out well...but i've only been running through scenarios in my mind, and time will tell.

Any ideas for a suitable class feature which you truthfully think is "fitting the vibe"...go ahead, share...I condone this actually for I feel that were one succeeds, 2 can crush his success with theirs'.

I will be editing it on the first post so that you may look no further down the page and scan for the completed version; consequently, i will be posting updates.

Anyhow; Thanks again,
Malniemel

Just a quick update-

I have been working on this PrC with Malniemel's blessings and I have come up with a few ideas that I wanted to run by everyone.

First, I think this PrC would be well suited for Wilders to take too and thought a name change to Introverted Mind would fit well.

Then, like the blackguard and a paladin, a psychic warrior or wilder would be able to exchange some of their class levels in those classes for levels within this PrC- as long as they did not go below the 9 required levels they needed to enter this PrC.

Following this line of thought, I thought that psychic reformation should be added to the requirements of the PrC.

I like the power aquisition and PSPs gained that Malniemel and I am keeping those as is, but thought that it would be cool at every even level if members of this PrC would be able to exchange one of the powers known that they had from their old class for a new power from the psion/wilder list.

I would like to know what people thought of the idea of not allowing these fellows to get a discipline or if you thought that they should get one- I am undecided in this matter.

Anyway- this is what I have been doing and thinking for this PrC and would like to know where others in the community stand on some of these thoughts.

First, I think this PrC would be well suited for Wilders to take too and thought a name change to Introverted Mind would fit well.

An excellent idea , I had been thinking about that recently: Couldn't a wilder learn to tame their pyschic power and undergo proper psionic training? They are afterall basically individuals pocessed of amazing raw psychic talent, but lacking formal training.

Makes sense considering the nature of the class.

I like the power aquisition and PSPs gained that Malniemel and I am keeping those as is, but thought that it would be cool at every even level if members of this PrC would be able to exchange one of the powers known that they had from their old class for a new power from the psion/wilder list.

That sounds good. I could definately see members of the class wanting to exchange martial powers for more... refined ones.

I would like to know what people thought of the idea of not allowing these fellows to get a discipline or if you thought that they should get one- I am undecided in this matter.

My vote is no.

I'm concerned that the wild surge class feature of wilders doesn't mesh with the class. Maybe their should be some sort of restrictions regarding that.

I was not a fan of the idea of granting them a discipline either- but I had this idea while reading over the Sage's comments- when they trade in their power maybe they would be able to choose the power from any power list? If so, do you think that there should be a level restriction on the level of power they can choose- as of now I would go for and require that the power be traded for any power of equal or lesser level, but maybe if they wanted to select from the discipline power list they would have to go traded power-1 or more, not of equal level. This would make it not equal to taking the expanded knowledge feat, but at the same time it would open several possibilities.

Editted;
Good suggestion on the psychic reformation and name change along with the wilder. Since it was really considered a change of focus from fighter to psion, i could also see undisciplined becoming honed...in a sense...so this also makes sense for the wilder AND psychic reformation

Along with the name change....good call, warrior doesn't quite fit the wilder

Discipline powers...no, that is taking the psionicists thunder, the only other thing i would have to do is give him a crystal and BAM, wanna be psion

Thanks Kalthandrix, good suggestions
