Feb 07, 2006 12:22:02 I have the oportunity to buy CoM from a friend second hand, but before I spend well-earned government money, I want to make sure a used prodct is worth it. Specifically: Whatshould be included in the box? I know there's the "Designer's Manual" and "Explorer's Guide". Is there anything else? Maps? Adventure book? Other books?

There should be three books (Heroes of the Princess Ark, and the two you said), plus a set of card describing various skyships, and a few maps (of the Princess Ark and the Great Waste/Serpent Peninsula).

I'd say its worth it. I would have liked to see more depth to each of the elements explored, but still I found it very useful, and the maps are nice too.

And if you haven't read the Voyage of the Princess Ark, then you definately have to get it!

Feb 07, 2006 15:53:48 I liked it, too. I just recently had an elf that joined an all-elven party be originally from Graakhalia (but he doesn't know it yet, as he lost his memory).

I think the Gazetteer-like information for Graakhalia and Sind, etc. (in the 'Explorer's Guide') were very useful, from a DM point of view.

And, the Voyage of the Princess Ark material is about 50% to 70% complete, from what was in the original Dragon magazines (probably closer to the high end), but worthwhile and inspiring (for ideas, getting exposure for the "feel" of different realms and what's there, etc.), if you don't have it elsewhere.

You find Gaz like informations about some interesting country. Sind was due, Graakalia is wonderful, Princess Ark is fantastic, flying ships are very amusing.

Buy it and enjoy it!
