Thoughts on the Nature of athas

I just felt the desire to share some thoughts that I have had about the nature of athas and some of its occupants. They are all pretty modular so you can just plug and play with them.

-Athas and its cosmology are the dreams of a dying god.
Rajaat is the last remenants of that gods consciousness. Daskinor discoverd this and went insane, while dregoth found a way out.
One time when the Dragon went to collect the levy from Daskinor, Daskinor showed Borys the truth about their world and threatened to finish off the god that was dreaming them, unless he was left alone.
The grey is the haze that is dead sections of this gods mind.
Defiling magic quickens the death of the this god.

While there are different prime material planes(one for each TSR setting) they are all created at different points in time on the timeline that is all of creation. The reason why athas is so hard to get to and has no gods is because it is a primordial prime material plane located far earlier or far later on this time line then the others.
Example Time line thingy:
Begining--------1-----------------------------------2--3-4-5---6-7+until end of time.

1=athas
2-7=equals any other campaign settings made by TSR

-Rumors coming from the north speak of a creature so foul that even the dragon leaves it alone. That creature is athas's one and only Hydra(in all actuallity daskinor as a high level dragon with the multi-headed template, each head having a seperate personality)

-Abberations are aliens from either ral or guthay

-Athas is a flat disc, and its two moons are also flat discs on seperate planes that orbit it

-The planar gate leads to other flat disc worlds that have been long forgotten by the dreaming god. These worlds are the homes of non-elemental outsiders.

-Travel to various planes:
Water: swim to the deepest depths
Gray: mind to mind contact with the dead
Fire: walking into a fire of the hottest flames
Earth: digging the deepest of holes
Rain: diving into a rain drop
Sun: climbing a beam of light into the sun
Air: flying to the furthest horizon
Black: traveling to the darkest reaches of space
Magma:?
Silt:?

Help with magma and silt please

Sorry for the spelling errors and please share with me the different ideas you have had for athas.:D

Magma:?
Silt:?

Both will due by sinking to the deepest depths of a vulcando and the sea of silt, respectively!

I love the Idea of the Great Hydra, bu I'd rader prefer Daskinor as an agent of this thing since it adds mistery...

....

....I don't understand this persistant need so many DS gamers have for introducing gods into the Athasian multiverse. Athas has never had gods. This is the canon position. Hypothesizing about forgotten/banished Athasian gods is pointless canonically, because there never were any.

--Green Age Athasians were just horribly deluded about where clerical magic came from NB

Couple of points here:
-I'm not saying that he was the god that everyone worshipped in the green age and they just didnt know it, or anything like that. I'm saying that the entire history of athas is just the dying dreams of this god. Thats it.
-I am all for the no gods ever on athas cannon. Its one of the few that I always stick by, but for a world that has no gods and has never had any gods dont you think its a little funny that it has had the most powerful divine magic out of all the
2E settings and by 4 levels of magic at that?
-I like the idea that maybe the reason that magic is so high is because the world actually exists inside of a god.
- If you dont like the idea of rajaat being the last reminents of this dying gods consciousness(bad spelling there, hooked on phonics mess up my ability to spell lol) then just take it out, these are all just super modular ideas.
-Lastly you have just inspired me to go start a new thread about the very question of why there is so much divine energy on athas a world whos sources of divine magic are allegidly(more bad spelling lol:D) dying

Oh and to guarnasco I was really trying to get something that didnt match water so much, like maybe something with obsidian for magma.....
