Hello,

I play DnD for nearly 15 years now. When I started this game I bought a couple of dark Sun novel book. They were great. Unfortunately we didn't start playing dark sun at that time. Now can any of you give me advice what do I need to play dark sun if I start it now. I have PHB, DMG and Monster Manual. What dark sun accesories are there that I might need to play? Can anyone of you tell me where can I get these books?

Thanks!

Richie

Well, first of all, go to athas.org and download everything you find in there, second, go to RPG Now and download the revised setting and everything else you find interesting.

I would recomend start by the original campaing setting... the wanderer's chronicle is best description of DS ever made.

Wow! Thanks for your help guys! I didn't think that a site such as athas.org does exist!

I think you're the right people to ask. I've found the wizard spells documents on athas.org. Maybe I'm wrong but I think it's not updated according to the 3.5 rules, is it? If I'm right what can you suggest me to use for spells? Simply the PHB?

The revised campaign setting, as its name suggest, is updated according to the 3.5 rules. Am I right? It contains world descripiton, maps, geography, timeline, history, etc..., doesn't it?

Greetings!

Glad to see that you have found the coolest (or hottest) section of cyber-space this side of the here-after!

You know, there some great fan made material in the Forum Archive - check it out. Or if you want to skip the shifting the wheat from the dross, just look in my sig and you will find Nervana :D

...and the pimp strikes again!

Actually the revised campaign setting is only useful now for anything BUT rules. This was one of the last 2nd edition box sets published. However, there is a 3.5 conversion available at athas.org that is based on the old material found in the original & revised boxed sets. These old sets are still very useful for non-rules material that can't be found in the 3.5 rules set.
