Not sure if this type of request is cool, but can y'all recommend me a site that sells the 2nd ed core books cheap (print only please....I don't like trying to use core books in pdf format). Thanks! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 2] Author : Rian Lightblade Date : 04-13-04 03:12 PM Try eBay. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : Curious about Dark Sun Date : 04-13-04 03:32 PM Ermm....:embarrass ....no credit card. I usually use a friend's (I give her the cash, then she orders it for me) but that would be kind of difficult with all the bidding, and I'd feel uncomfortable knowing her cc number. Are there any good sites or catalogs? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : Rian Lightblade Date : 04-13-04 04:16 PM Don't be :embarrass I don't have a CC either, I don't like them, I have put a lot of milage on my check card sing it as a Visa though. I was going to say that many sellers still take checks or money orders, but since one need a CC to open an account that may not work. An atm card with a Visa or MC logo could be used to set up and account I think I did this way back when. (I order now under my wife's e-bay account and just give her cash). Or you could try this. Using MSN I typed in AD&D books and had several sites come up. I'd try that. Maybe one will have what you're looking for. I hope this helps -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : Wyrmbane Date : 04-13-04 09:13 PM With the game out of print, and so many things I still want to get... I could tell you, but then I WOULD kill you. ;) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : Algolei Date : 04-14-04 01:15 AM I get all my OOP stuff at my local game stores. Do you live in a populated area? Sometimes used book stores will have some stuff too. You might even check your local library, they might have some books (unless the nutcases have found and burnt them)--although I do not suggest stealing from your local library, of course; just borrowing them and looking through them like a good person. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : caeruleus Date : 04-14-04 03:12 PM I too have found many OOP gems in my local used bookstores, so that's a good place to look. But let me recommend two websites: www.abebooks.com Used booksellers from all over post items here, and you can purchase them from this website. www.hitpointe.com The Hitpointe has tons of 1st and 2nd edition material, plus material from pretty much any campaign setting you want. Good luck finding what you want. You can get a buyer's account and just use checks and money orders. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 9] Author : splifer Date : 04-23-04 10:21 AM what i have found after years of buying and sadly enough looseing books is to just download them. i use kazaa and a friend of mine uses Bit Torrent?. i have almost all of the 2nd ed mod's and like 90% of the books on my computer. i just print out what is needed as it is needed. it is sooo much cheaper than buying them and with a good connection only takes a few hours to Download each Splifer Of'thahogleg -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 10] Author : The WarOverlord Date : 04-26-04 10:00 AM Thread Title : Re: Where is a good place to pick up 2nd ed books cheap? Thanks! Used Bookstores. I got all my 2nd eddition stuff from a local used book store for 50% off original price or even as little as $2. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 11] Author : realmaster Date : 05-01-04 07:28 AM Originally posted by splifer just download them. i use kazaa and a friend of mine uses Bit Torrent?. This is against copy rights and illegal. NOBLE KNIGHT is also a good out of print online store. SVGAMES sales official PDF files of TSR. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 12] Author : chris7476 Date : 05-01-04 12:34 PM This is against copy rights and illegal But it does happen. The stupid thing is announcing that you do it on the boards.... But yeah, ebay is your best bet. My collection has gotten pretty big by using it. There are definitely ways around it if you don't have a credit card. You can even use PayPal without a credit card too (bank account, for example). -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 13] Author : James McMurray Date : 05-01-04 01:09 PM Originally posted by Rian Lightblade Don't be :embarrass I don't have a CC either, I don't like them, I have put a lot of milage on my check card sing it as a Visa though. They are easily tracable, and you will be able to determine if the seller is lying if you ever find one that claims not to have received the money. I wold be extremely careful using a bank card online a a credit card. The reason is if your credit card number is compromised and someone maxes it out, federal law only assigns a maximum liablity of $50 to the cardholder. With many credit card companies in competition currently, you can even find some companies that will pay that $50 for you. However, if your bank card is compromised and someone clears out your account, you have nothing to fall back on except for the good graces of your bank. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 14] Author : hamletru Date : 05-01-04 03:26 PM Actually, if you're just interested in getting your hands on the adventure itself and aren't overly concerned with having the actual TSR product, you can download most AD&D products from SVGames for about five dollars each and then print them off at the local Kinko's. They have a special right now on the original Temple of Elemental Evil T1-4 and a number of other really good modules. That is, of course, unless you're actually collecting them for collection's sake. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:20 AM.
