It's written up as if it were a mail-away order catalog for a Forgotten Realms company, and is chock-full of all kinds of great stuff. It's not rules-intensive, but there's oodles of flavour, and it's still easy to adapt into use in 3.X. They can be a bit hard to find, though, not too many were printed IIRC, and they're on parchment-type paper which, while nice, is really prone to ripping. Also, IIRC there's a copy of Deities and Demigods, the first printing, which had stats for deities like Chtulhu, and other copyrighted names. They got stopped pretty quick, and the copyrighted material taken out, so getting your hands on one of those would be neat. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : VFults Date : 06-01-05 11:44 PM Check the web site, www.acaeum.com. They should have a complete list of AD&D publications and their collector values. Regards, V -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : weasel fierce Date : 06-02-05 02:09 AM I assume you are referring to 1st and 2nd edition AD&D, despite what you state in your post. If you are after 2nd edition, there's the whole "complete" series. Most of it is junk, but complete book of humanoids may be of interest, as may the Psionics book. Are you after classic D&D material as well ? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : DungeonMaster Date : 06-02-05 04:43 AM This is a very good site. It probably has everything you're looking for. http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/ -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : WizO_Paradox Date : 06-02-05 05:56 AM Also check the top thread on the Out of Print forum, which this thread had been moved to. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : caeruleus Date : 06-03-05 12:33 AM This is a very good site. It probably has everything you're looking for. http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/ I don't know what I'd do without this website. (Well, I have some idea, but you know what I mean. :) ) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 8] Author : Warhead Date : 06-03-05 06:23 PM If you are after 2nd edition, there's the whole "complete" series. Most of it is junk Most of it is excellent... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 9] Author : Attila Date : 06-03-05 10:25 PM What was the 'Complete' series? Were they the splat books for classes and races, the softcover brown books? If so, I found them to be about equal to the 3E splatbooks, not bad but not worth the money, IMO. OP, be sure to read the acaeum's comments on 1st ed. Deities & Demigods prices. Also, the boards there have a lot of good info. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 10] Author : weasel fierce Date : 06-04-05 01:35 AM Opinions differ ;) The books introduced the idea of character kits, some of which were fantastic, and others were craptastic. The paladin book, in particular, mangled the class. The Fighter book were good, because it offered a lot of new options and ideas. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 11] Author : realmaster Date : 06-04-05 01:45 AM As DungeonMaster pointed out http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/index.htm is a great site. Also http://www.acaeum.com/index.html that VFults pointed out and http://www.rpgunited.com/index.html. These three are the best for listing out of print items. I always use turn to these for information. Myself I love the kits, use them all the time. These days I could not play a character without a kit, one from a book or a home created one. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:16 AM.
