We at PS3E are continueing to look for ways to help Planescape expand and grow. To this effect I'm requesting any aspiring writers with an interest in seeing their take on the multiverse published online send me their stories for review at : gsorrel@wam.umd.edu. The subject of the email MUST be titled Planescape Story Submission.

Approved stories will be hosted on planewalker (if all goes according to plan) and considered Planescape canon. Naturally only top-quality stories will be accepted, and should not contain elements that run counter or contradict other Planescape material (so no giving away The Lady's secret, alright berk?). All stories should be post-Faction War and post-Die Vecna Die.

Any questions? Thoughts?

I recently discovered something on the Legend of Five Rings webpage over at AEG. Absent the release of modules, they appear to be producing books that set stages for adventures - leaving the fine points to the DM. I assume that we won't see too many PS modules, unless your board starts promoting them. (Heck, you could even do it now - and perhaps set standards like Dungeon does, so as to lay out a professional edge) So, my thought was, why not start setting adventure hook documents. (Also, compare to WotC's Random Adventures, the older Cliffhanger Series, and FR's Perilous gateways.) Might be a neat little 2 page print out once a week to start aiding players and DMs alike, who don't have much experience running PS campaigns, some ideas and groundwork.

Yeah yeah yeah - like you aren't busy enough! But what about it? It might offer a nice change of pace for the designers, as well as ways to implement some of your new stuff. Hmmmm?:D

They had something like that on the original Planewalker site. It was hosted by a kyton and I think it was called "Kytos' Hooks." It was pretty cool, and I found a really cool adventure hook that brought the PC's to the site of an ancient battle against the primeval Baatorans. I assume it'll come back once the PS3e effort is wrapped up, but for now, it'd be a lot of work to bring back on top of everything else they're working on. They've only brought back a few of the original site's sections, but they still rule.

Sounds awesome Moogle. Looks like I better bust out some of my old PS work from 98-99!!! TSR/WotC passed on it, but PS3e might enjoy it.

Great idea!
I don't have the creative patience to write any novels of regular kind, but shorter stories might see the light of day sometime...

Are you planning on letting the fans write adventures and smaller modules in the future as well?

As someone who has come only recently to the Planescape campaign setting, and whose town is;
a) in England, and thus rather far the HQ of the publishers of the material.
and
b) lacking a proper hobby type bookstore thingy, which might have a few books knocking around second hand
I am completely unfamiliar with everything but the campaign setting itself, and all that you can glean from the PC game, Torment, I was wondering if it might be possible for a detailed summary of the events of Faction War, and Die Vecna Die to be made somewhere, as a point of reference for the 'present' in the PS setting. I managed to learn a little of the Faction War and personally I prefer the old system with the factions and thier political intrigues.

Also, I am curious, but how much of Die Vecna Die are we considering? Certainly not the "cosmology changes", I hope.

The factions and all their intrigue is still around. For a complete write-up of everything that has transpired you'll have to wait for the full product, however. Most of the events of Faction War and Die Vecna Die can be found in other threads on this board and others.

In terms of DVD, its sufficient to say it happened, and pretty much ignore any of the details and you'll be fine. The "cosmology changes" suggested have not occurred.
