I posted this question under the DMG and MM forum's, but haven't received an answer...I thought maybe Dragonlance fans may have the answer since my question regards these 2 Weis/Hickman monsters:

I'm currently running a party through the Desert of Desolation(I3-I5) series and I've come accross both the Crypt Knight and Spectral Minion and I"m unsure on how to convert these to 3.5. I looked in my old 1e/2e MM, Field Folio, and MM2 and these monsters are not listed. Where are they originally described? And does anyone have a conversion they've already done? The adventure itself only provides a small stat block...hardly enough to do a proper conversion.

The Crypt Knight I have not seen, but the Spectral Minion is in the DLCS (Dragonlance Campaign Setting), so we can't actually post the stats. However, go by the store and at least look at the stats to get an idea and you should be set. For the Crypt Knight, I am not sure what to suggest because I don't remember the creature to well, but I assume that a Crypt Thing might work for you.

The ENWorld conversion library has all three converted to 3e (no 3.5 versions of them as far as I can see, but this should still help):

The Desert of Desolation super-module was a 2nd edition AD&D reprint of Tracy and Laura's original module trilogy. Crypt knights were mistakenly left out of the reprint, although they do appear properly in I5 Lost Tomb of Martek, which I don't have on me at the moment.

Check out the conversions jonesy gave links to and see if they help. Otherwise, a copy of I5 can be purchased as a PDF at www.svgames.com or www.rpgnow.com and it would then be a fairly trivial process to convert it.

Cheers,

Cam: In fact I do have a copy of I5 boxed up and put away. Ever since I bought the 2e reprint of the combined modules I've had my old 1e ones in storage.

I'll pull the old I5 out, and compare to the conversions Jonesy pointed out.

Kalanth: The nearest hobby store to my location is a 2 1/2 hour drive! My email address of LordTenser@aol.com if you want to send me the stats. ... if not I"ll take a look the next time I have a chance to visit a hobby store.

Thanks for the help everyone.
