Greetings, mistwalkers!

I have posted more images from Artahus' upcoming Denizens of Dread monster book. The gallery so far has the bruja, dread elementals, furies, flesh golem, mist golem, snow golem, wax golem, jack frost and elemental lich.

You can take a look at 'em here .

Let me know what you think!

Game On!

Besides liking the art to begin with, I'm pleased to see that the other dread golems are being statted, *especially* the wax golem-- I like Alexandre du Cire!

Very nice!

Not quite how I picture jack frosts, but I'm being nitpicky. The revised RL MM is going to have a great look to it.

Yeah, this looks very good! And for the record: I love your visualization of Harkon Lukas.

Yes, Jack has the problem of being a Jackie. She also lacks some perspective object so we don't see that she's a small one.

Others are way better than the ones they replace.

I *REALLY* like the Mist Golem. The piece is by far my favorite. The Bruja is also very good. I think the Jack Frost and the Furries, while not misses are not as strong as your other material. If you don't mind me picking nits I think the clean lines you used are less emotionally evocative than what you've done on some of the other pieces.

Over the years there has been a surprising amount of uneveness in the RL art. On the whole I like what you've done, and hope to see more. Thanks!

Furries in Ravenloft? Somewhere I think even the Nightmare Court is shuddering a little...

Anyway, while the Jacqueline Frost is well-drawn, I always thought of those critters as a bit more androgynous in appearance. If I could draw worth a damn I'd probably try making the hair look less flowing and more spiky or crystalline as well.

:D Well, you know how the Kargat are vampire-wannabes? They've got a similar gang of folks in Verbrek.... (I see a prestige class in this!)

And since I'm here again, I think I'll comment that I like the golem illos a lot!

Do tell. I do remember the Ata-Bestaal from the Forbidden Lore "Cryptic Allegiances" book sounding kind of like some furs with their 'Animals are just so much *finer* and *nobler* than us!' line.

And, well, after having been to a couple of the seedier Furry cons and seeing certain *very wrong* pictures online I'm quite sure furries were an inspiration for certain of the wererat salient abilities in Gaz3...

The Mist Horror, Mist Golem, and Bruja look great, even better than the other art, which is also great.

FDL!

The Dread Elemental picture is terrific. Nice job of making it primordial and savage. The Wax Golem picture is also really good . . . nice look of subtle malevolence on its face. And, of course, the Mist Golem and Mist Horror are givens.

Not sure about the Furies, though . . . they're not at all bad, don't get me wrong, but they don't look quite as clean, and the wonderful job on the other faces' expression doesn't seem to be as evident here. Still, if the weakest picture is only "not quite as good as the other ones," I'm not going to complain. ^_^ Keep it up!

Can anyone identify the background of the skeleton?

And a big HELLO goes to Writer of Stuff Steve Miller! LTNS!

I recognize it. Castle Ravenloft. First off, it would most likely be, because it's a Strahd Skeleton. But that aside, I recognize the landbridge over the Tser Falls in the far left of the picture.

Today's kind words go to the castle in the background, skeleton on the foreground and to the horror of the mists.

The shadow fiend looks as if it has been made of oil or black plastic, though I would have expected something more transparent, I guess.
