Is there any Player Character oriented books for 3E D&D Greyhawk? Seems like there is mostly DM Gazetteers and adventure modules, no splabooks or anything neat for the PCs? Nothing equivalent to the Player’s Guide to Faerun for Greyhawk?

[Besides the Core Books, obviously :D ]

Thanks,
Necrosnoop

I think what he is referring to is a word used by the masses called "crunchy bits". For that he might want to try the regional Greyhawk feats in Dragon magazine.

Sorry, but Greyhawk tends to be rather meaty, with few nasty bones to cause any sort of annoying crunching sound. I beleive the masses word for meat is "fluff". Rather strange.

Complete Divine has GH gods, GH PrC, etc...

Of course, not everybody (myself included) will agree it was done correctly, but that's better than nothing.

I would add Complete Warrior but the fact is that the same PrC, when they were described in Sword and Fist, had more GH-related flavor text than in the most recent version.

I am especially furious at the treatment the Knight Protector of the Great Kingdom got, and at the fact they didn't see fit to update the Fist of Hextor

Technically speaking, ALL non-setting specific books put out by WotC are Greyhawk books. But I don't buy that either.

I once tried putting together a primer for players but I found it to be beyond my abilities. It's something that really needs a collaborative effort with people who really KNOW the setting, inside and out because they're who can determine what is pertinant and what is not, to a newbie.

I would say that the best introduction to Greyhawk is the lighter version of the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer. Unfortunately, I don't think you can but it anymore as it's out of print.

Therefore, the next best thing would be Dungeon magazine.

After that... well... depends on how... err... 'resourceful' you are

Heh, Holian of the Chat got ****** with me for saying he was better at fluff than crunch, the other week. So we tried to come up with a better term than fluff.

We failed.

I really like 'meat' though. In fact, from now on I'm going to use that term. It's far more indicative of what it represents as fluff is a bit of a non-sequitur and also derisive of the form, whereas meat conveys the sense that you're getting something worthwhile and nutritious

Are there any other prestiege classes that are Greyhawk specific? I have a fighter who's looking to join a Knightly order and I didn't know if The Knights of the Hart or Luna had their stats published already...

I am not sure if the Knights of Luna ever received a PrC

Both the Knights of the Hart and the Knights of the Watch did but those are under control of the appropriate "region" of the Living Greyhawk setting. I know for sure you won't be seeing any published info on the Knights of the Watch since that knowledge is reserved for those who manage to get that PrC in-game.

However, if my memory serves me someone said recently the Knights of the Hart would perhaps get an article in a future issue of Dungeon Magazine.
