Don't take this the wrong way, but I hope you're a more useful poster than your buddy Raist_teh_Ubarmage. Most of his posts were about the length/content of Amaron Blackthorn's and usually just contained Raistlin fanboy statements.

My suggestion is to kinda "lurk" around the boards for a while, learning the nuances of the board and terminology, before posting a long string of threads that are all answered in the FAQ (see: What a lot of new posters do.)

Anyway, welcome to the boards. I may come of as a bit confrontational, but I mean well. Really I do.

A heart felt welcome from the Green_Cloaked_Sorcerer. And really he does mean well. No really he does. DL Gaming materials are on the right, friends and food the left. Have a little of column A and a little of column B. We welcome all new posters with open arms, just if your a sorcerer watch your back, i don't know how many times I have been threated by these "wizards". Take care hope to see some posts we can help with!

Welcome. Don't worry about TRRW and the others. They long talk big for wizards but are short in the hit points. Like suggested above, lay low until you figure out how it works then you can start annoying them.

You know, I don't know if this is going to cause problems, but I didnt know that there was so many people picky about what other people write. You guys act like only people who write a thousand line reply can do so, yet I see people either post replies that have little or nothing to do with the topic or sometimes Cam or Dragonhelm post little replies or jokes and no one says anything to them.

It seems lately some people have even gone out of their way to throw in little jibes at people whenever they can. I wonder if this makes some people decide not to even post because you never know when you could get attacked for "not writing enough" or "writing something about someone we are tired of you writing about".

Yea, maybe Amaron did write a bunch of little comments to almost all the threads. And people said something to him a couple of times about it, but in the end people can post whatever they want as long as it doesnt violate the CoC. Green_Sorceror even seems sometimes to actively seek him out and go out of his way to make posts to try to either belittle him or talk crap about him. I think I even remember him asking one poster to apologize to Serena if I remember right, which I laughed out loud at. I saw a couple of people say stuff like "hey maybe you shouldnt reply to everry thread" and I think thats enough personally. But maybe others don't.

I dunno, I guess its not a big deal to a lot of people, but I was thinkin about it the other day when I was looking over threads. Like I said before, I wonder if this has the effect of having some people not post because of the nit-pickyness of some of the others on the board.

In the end people, its a message board. Its ok, things happen. Don't take it so seriously. I'm sure this might strike a cord with some people, but I figured someone should say something. But maybe everyone likes how things are and then I'll be attacked because I don't follow anyone else. Who knows heh.

Hehe try high noon! But you´re absolutely right! People in this place have been getting more and more petty...and it´s a shame because people should be able to ignore posts they don´t see as relevant, or if it is a repeating problem (as some people seem to think is the case with Amaron), then just PM a WizO or the person in question. Don´t hang the person out to dry on these boards...new people might feel intimidated by it.

Ok first of all, I agree with you to some degree, yes no one says anything to to Dragon Helm and to Cam, but its because they don't do it to everysingle thread. Its different if they do it once or twice in a thread, not every single time they post except maybe once or twice.
Also I never actively seek out Amaron but its kinda hard not to find him when I open the boards and every last post is from him, and its all a little one line thing.
C, Mr. Blackthorn and I have had our differences but I respect him as a poster and fellow mage, I have said on several posts that I don't mean to belittle him just ask that he doesn't post on everythread with a resounding ME TOO! or somthing similar.
4, the apology I asked for was from Mr. DMJoe because he came on here and did somthing against the code of conduct(or I believe it is) he went out and attacked the writers of the books that we talk about on this board, laugh all ya want, sometimes its good for a laugh, but its that reason they said we weren't allowed to talk about books(novels) on here, if your going to attack the writers of the work might they close down the boards Mr. Blue?
Next, several posts and such have been wrote not only to the said posters above but also to Drake who assures us he is making these types of posters stop, appearently they don't listen. I have maybe put 3 or 4 posts up attacking Mr. Blackthorn, and have decided to reconcile our differences because I for one would not like to see either of us removed from these boards.
E, As for other posters not wanting to post I believe that what we do may deter some but maybe most will sit back and read the boards, not just do small one line posts. Like Cam has said having small convos on the boards is not a bad thing. But to just put a "me too". or somthing a question already answered in these posts.
6. You are also goading another poster into a fight with ur little Raist comment above and that is against the CoC. So please lets not goad and cause fights, thanks!

I'm GCS and I approve this message.

Since we're on the subject of board ettiquette...

I know I've had my differences with people on this board before, and I'm sure I rub people the wrong way sometimes. And yes, sometimes it gets a little annoying when you come on and you've got 20 threads with "Me too!" posts or whatever you want to call them. But one thing I will say...even though simetimes I consider Amaron our local board kender (;)), I've never seen the guy be mean or belittling to anyone. Even when people are jumping all over his case, he's always been very calm with his responses. And hey, he does have good posts, too.

For me...although those other posts can sometimes be annoying...what really gets to me is people being negative and disrespectful and insulting. As has already been mentioned, the disrespectful nature of a lot of posters (though not really on the DL Novel board) is what got novel conversations banned from WotC's boards in the first place (and apparenty I was incorrect about the ban being lifted ). Now, I'm sure I've been guilty of this as well in my time here...I do try to keep it to a minimum at least...which I think I'm successful at, but I'm sure that's open to debate. heh heh

The last thing I will say is that, a couple days ago...I spent some time on a few Star Wars message board trying to find information about this Jedi TV show for 2006 (www.JediTV.com)...I couldn't find anything solid...but what I did see was a complete disregard for people's feelings and common decency...and just a complete "elitists" community. On all 3 boards I went to! It was amazing...I've never seen so many rude people in my life...it was like entire boards full of Comic Book Store Guys from "the Simpsons." It was awful. There was only so much my blood pressure could take...I had to stop my search (not to mention I was running the risk of spoiling Revenge of the Sith ). I didn't realize just how civil and well, maybe spoiled, we have it on this board. Give me occasional annoyances over a-holes any day.

Amen Brimstone!

Amaron, I once again apologize for being rude to you and attacking you. I gave a peace offering and though i may beable to point out one instance where you were rude that was all, you are a better man than I when it comes to being attacked. Maybe it comes from being a kender, well then if your a Kender just consider my friends your Raists and me well I'm more like Flint I get frustrated but in the end it doesn't really bother me. Thanks Brimstone for opening our eyes to the A-holes in other rooms. So Amaron enjoy your posting!

Folks should all feel free to tell me off for being a cynical old pedantic bastard, also. Don't ever feel that just because I may know a bunch of stuff and have my own opinion on topics that it gives me any right to tell you how to play your game. It doesn't, I don't assume it does, and if it starts to come across that way, send me a PM and say "dude, you're busting my chops, it's just a game." That'll fix it.

I have better things to do in my life than act like a jerk!

Cheers,
Cam

Brim is absolutely right when he says we are rather civil here! I´ve been on many boards with different subjects and I must say that most of those places people act VERY elitist! Don´t even try stating your own opinions as a new guy! Posters on this board (and dragonlance.com) are much more civil and people here are entitled to their own opinions!

Sadly, I shall only be in attendance Saturday only, on the plus side though, I've managed to talk my wife into coming. But there was a cost...oh such a great cost...The only was I could go is if I agreed to only spend 1 day and allow her the rest of the weekend to travel Indiana. So we've already made our own sleeping accomidations, Thanks for the offer anyway.

And remember everyone...Thanks for you support.
