One of the prerequisites for the wizard of high sorcery prestige class is that you take the feat "spell focus". That feat gives you a bonus to the DC of your spells.

Now here is my question: What purpose does this feat serve for a white robe? I mean, abjurations and divinations are RARELY if ever used against an opponent. Am I missing something with these schools or do the white robes get shafted out of a feat!?

Please help me see past this because I am going to go with the white robes anyway . . . I just hate to have a feat that I cannot use. Are there any spells that can be resisted like that in any other source books or are there other uses for those spells? By the way, I am mostly looking at Abjuration magic as a focus . . . which just happens to have fewer uses for the spell focus feat IMO.

What do you think?
Any white robes out there?

Spell Focus: Divination helps when scrying on an opponent who doesn't want to be seen. Is it as useful as Enchantment or Illusion? No, but I'm playing a white robe diviner in Cam Banks's game, and it's come in handy several times.

well, how about this.. look up some less common spells of abjuration or divination, sneak in some stuff from 2e if you can. I once came accrost some very very nice abjuration magics in 2e, making me want to play an Abjurer. (When you're darn near invulnerable and your opponent is likely to kill himself in trying to attack you, and you can strip away his powers and banish him to imprisonment or another realm...) well, its fun. :-) Also, my brother loves divination spells, get some more of those too, with the right spells, you can pump the DM for info all campaign long :-)
