Would it be fun to play again? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 3] Author : True_Atlantean Date : 01-01-08 11:12 PM Thread Title : Re: Return to the Tomb of Horrors My question has always been - after going in there once; why on earth (or Oerth) would you go back? How do you sell that idea to the party. It is like the Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. My players looked at that module after finishing T1-4 and asked essentially the same question; telling me not to waste my money on something they wouldn't go near again. Once through there was scary enough thank-you. It was a good type of scared, though. :D -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 4] Author : realmaster Date : 01-03-08 02:26 AM Thread Title : Re: Return to the Tomb of Horrors you use one of the oldest plots in the book. the evil you onced vanquished in those lands rises again. do you dare to re-visit them and find out what evil makes that land it's home. :) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 5] Author : Ridian11989 Date : 01-12-08 05:35 PM Thread Title : Re: Return to the Tomb of Horrors Fun Fact: Compare the Return to the Tomb of Horrors final treasure reward (Large statue carved form a single gem,Fist sized gem with a brilliant crystal matrix,7,433 coins that are worth 10x their value to a collector, decanter of endless water,13 pinches of dust of tracelessness, hewards handy haversack, hat of disguise shaped like a fez, 4 ioun stones, pearl of power, and gauntlets of swimming and climbing) With the final treasure reward from the module : Dragotha's lair (Large statue carved form a single gem,Fist sized gem with a brilliant crystal matrix,7,433 coins that are worth 10x their value to a collector, decanter of endless water,13 pinches of dust of tracelessness, hewards handy haversack, hat of disguise shaped like a fez, 4 ioun stones, pearl of power, and gauntlets of swimming and climbing) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 6] Author : Watcher_in_the_mists Date : 01-22-08 11:28 AM Thread Title : Re: Return to the Tomb of Horrors Ive played through return to the tomb of horrors twice as a player, once with a group we built up just for this adventure, an another time with higher lvl characters that we had brought from lvl 1 to 12. The first time was harder, as we had to grasp the strength and weaknesses of our characters while evolving in probably the deadliest dungeon ever, and we got owned eventually because the vampire's phylactery was carried by the priest who failed his save against trap the soul. She used his body to slaughter the party during a rest The second time, we were more powerful and we knew the strength of our party, and mostly we were more well geared because we had played them for so long. We went almost as far as the first expedition we played, but we were bored with those characters, so we never finished the module. Personnaly i think that the adventure is really nice, and even the introduction before the first tomb sets the mood and the deadliness of the module. I really enjoyed it, even the 2nd time, and would recommend it to anyone. Dont hesitate to put it into any campaign world, cause i really think its worth the play -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [Post 7] Author : Mock26 Date : 01-22-08 11:40 PM Thread Title : Re: Return to the Tomb of Horrors My question has always been - after going in there once; why on earth (or Oerth) would you go back? There is a completely other story line that, if I remember correctly, revolves around a city that has grown up in the shadow of the now empty tomb. And, if I again remember correctly, there is a different evil that is arising. So, while some elements might be the same or a tiny bit familiar, it is in fact a different adventure. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Downloaded from Wizards Community (http://forums.gleemax.com) at 05-10-08 08:22 AM.
