There are none. Feel free to make him whatever the heck you want, within reason (not a black robe wizard).

I'm thinking about, if I use him, making him a Noble. Every class ability makes sense. Before anyone asks me about Favors, I doubt he'd use them much, but I suspect mortal paladine could call them in. The Inspire abilities also help his focus be on helping, not doing.

In my campaign I told the PC's Valthonis is a Bard, tough i think they were dissapointed since they expected an all mighty paladine's avatar instead of a kind and noble elf.

I´m not using game stats for him, but i chose bard because he's supposed to "know almost everything" (bardic lore?). A paladin or a sorcerer would make sense too, IMO Valthonis should have a very high Charisma score as well Wisdom.

I find the Noble version fine, because is not mentioned that he can cast spells.

The only downside is IIRC as he became mortal, he lost the majority of the knowledge he was privy to as a god, so his knowledge is limited in that regard. I agree with the idea of him having levels in Noble, as that just seems to be most appropriate for him IMO.

I use the following stats for Mortal Paladine, basically removing divine abilities and then giving him Greater God stats.

Paladin 20/Wizard 20/Priest 20

Yes, he's got sixty levels.

The only question is whether he's still getting his magic, wizard levels, and priest since he's 'self channeling' no longer or acting as if he had these levels but having none of the supernatural abilties.

Scuse me but... :headexplo Or:He lost all his powers. He has lost his knowledge, strength, he has elven statistics and levels. I was thinking sixth or so noble. Basicily, he is a mortal, with all the knowledge, strength, powers, and all. I doubt any mortal ever had 60 levels. (Also, it's Cleric not Priest). Maybe Raist had 60 levels, doesn't sound that unreasonable to me, but no other mortal, period. P. A. L. A. D. I. N. E. I. S. A. M. O. R. T. A. L.

Paladine has lost some of his knowledge, certainly though he's maintained a large portion of it though. He's still probably the most knoweledgable and powerful individual of all time though.

He's a mortal whose BEEN ALIVE AT LEAST AS LONG AS KRYNN.

Why would he degenerate into a complete weakling with no knowledge of diplomacy, strategy, history or the like? A 6th level Noble, you think Valthios is less of a diplomat than Gilthas?

personally, I'd further add that his "elf" form is probably not his true form too and if he needs to....he may become his true form....a Platnium Dragon.

Actually no, he's only been alive since the end of the War of Souls. Gods don't experience time the way mortals do, nor is their experience and knowledge bound in mortal terms. When Paladine had this stripped from him, he had a short time of memory and conception of the immensity of his awareness of things in the world, and that faded. I believe he's got plenty of residual knowledge and expertise, but he's not lived throughout Krynn's history like, say, Astinus.

Cheers,
Cam
