Fiends seem to get everyone's imagination going...and are exceedingly interesting...so...

A thread dedicated to fiends and ideas for them and the blood war, Gelhereths and Hags too!

See ya on the battlefields!

Well I'll be running a oneshot game in a few weeks that revolves around 5-6 PCs being sent into a recently abandoned Baatezu forward encampment in Oinos to retrieve a MacGuffin of dubious identity for largely undisclosed upper planar patrons. The Baatezu abandoned it because their reinforcements won't arrive in time before a massive force of Tanar'ri (about 6 million) reach that position. The Baatezu say it's a calculated retreat, but honestly it's a full scale scramble to avoid a onesided slaughter.

The PCs get to encounter any Baatezu stragglers, any advance Tanar'ri scouts, wandering Hags and Hordelings, and of course the ubiquitous 'loths who might be serving either side or neither.

And of course there's the question of what it is that they're supposed to find, just that it would stick out like a sore thumb, or "Like a rose on the field of nettles"

"Like a rose on the field of nettles"

Which depends on the color of the rose, how long its been there and how long its been since the last battle.... (and field of nettles was a lot of fun to run- anyone else converted that?)

converted it, and passed it, and currently my campaigns gone down an odd track after the Maeldur's missed dunk.
