I've just bought a copy of X8: Drums on Fire Mountain from ebay.

The detachable middle sheet has been cut in half - only 1 half was included.
I've e-mailed the vendor - hopefully it's just an oversight on his part.

But if not, is it permissible to ask for someone who has the module to scan the sheet I am missing?

I don't know if WotC allow such requests on the board, which is why I'm asking first.

BTW - this is the only X series module that is not available as an ESD, hence my having to obtain it through ebay.

Welll, wonders will never cease!

The ebay seller had access to an unused copy, so he's sent me a scan of the pages, and he's going to mail me a photocopy too.

I think that calls for some positive feedback, don't you?

The missing pages were only the stats for the two main characters in the module! :D

I like happy endings. ;)

Hmm... I thought you were missing the pull-out images of various cliff carvings etc. for the adventure. Are you sure you have everything, because to my knowledge THEY are the center pages, you pull out first and THEN the main characters...

I might be mistaken. I am going to look that up.

That is a good question. Do they allow that? I know I have traded various things from modules not in circulation anymore through e-mail with friends, but I never thought to go through a fan board. Anyone from WotC listening? I'm assuming that a complete copy of a module or something would not be allowed, but perhaps just maps or characters?

well, most countries allow you to photocopy a certain number of pages from a particular book.

Sorry, missed this post earlier.
The centre pages were designed to pull out and then cut in half.
He included the sheet with the cliff carvings and players sketch map of the island. He didn't realise until I mentioned it that the other sheet with the character stats and background were missing.

The photocopies arrived yesterday, so when I get into work I shall scan them in so I've got a permanent copy, just in case!

As far as the whole copying thing goes, I personally feel the same way about ESD's - you are paying for a complete copy, so someone sending you a scan of a missing sheet is okay. Although the official line might be otherwise, I can't see any company making an issue of just one or two sheets.

It would be nice to know what the official ruling is, though.

Why Me?

My copy of CM7: Tree of Life has just arrived - with the first page missing!

Okay, I know one side is only the contents page, but from what I can guess page 2 contains the whole intro to the adventure!

I've let the seller know, but no joy so far. Don't people check these things?

Just in case he doesn't have the sheet, can anyone help?

Yes. Same as before, I can mail you a photocopy. I don't have access to a scanner.

And while we're on the subject:

I used to buy pdf versions of old products at SVGames.com but as of april this year they don't sell pdf's anymore

So I had a look at RPGnow.org and bought Gaz 9 and Gaz 12 from them as pdf's for US$ 4.95 each. Only to find out that the Gaz 12 did not include scans of the map of Ethengar.

I have e-mailed their customer service several times, demanding a refund, but they haven't bothered to reply

(US$ 4.95 is only the equivallent of a McFeast burger in Denmark, so this is a matter of principle rather than money of course).

I have copies of Thorf's beautiful map of Ethengar but if anyone can provide me with a scan of the original, it would naturally be appreciated.

Thank you. I'll give him the weekend to reply, and let you know if he's unable to supply the missing sheet.

This is one of the items Shawn is looking into - if you look at the list on the vaults you can see the other ESD's that has a similar "affliction".

The Northern Reaches Gaz comes to mind as also missing the map.

I bought Gaz 12 off ebay because the ESD was missing the map, but it would be quite difficult to scan the map in with the printer/scanner I have at work.

If Shawn's attempt to get permission to host these missing parts on the vaults is unsuccessful, I'll see if a local print shop has a bigger scanner.

Spellweaver, I've just had an e-mail through saying that he's got another copy stored away, and he'll dig it out to make a scan for me.

I'll get back to you if it doesn't happen for any reason, but hopefully he'll come through.

Thanks again for the offer.
