This spell allows the caster to transform one Small or Medium-size animal into a Gloomfang, a vicious and loyal undead creature that serves the caster. The animal must be willing or unconscious to be affected by this spell. The transformation is permanent and cannot be reversed by any means short of a wish or miracle.

Gloomfang: AC: 6, HD: 4+4, hp: 22, THAC0: 17, #AT: 1, Dmg: 2d4+4 plus poison SA: Poison, telepathy, SD: Immunity to sleep, charm, hold spells, poison, disease, paralysis, death magic, energy drain, critical hits and subdual damage, mind-affecting effects, such as illusions, fear, and emotion, MV: 18' ML: Special, AL: N, XP: 420

Special Abilities:
Poison: A creature bitten by a Gloomfang must make a save verse poison or become poisoned for 1 minute. A poisoned creature suffers a -2 penalty to attack rolls, damage rolls, saving throws, and ability checks.
Telepathy: A Gloomfang can communicate telepathically with its creator within 1 mile.

Gloomfang cannot by turned as long as within 1 mile of creator and holy water causes 2d4 damage per vial.

The Gloomfang obeys the caster’s commands and is loyal to the caster until death. The caster can have one Gloomfang per six levels up to the maximum of 6 at level 36th level magic-user. If the caster casts this spell again while having the maximum Gloomfang(s), the oldest Gloomfang dies instantly.

The material component for this spell is the body of a wolf or dog and a drop of blood from the caster.
