Chapter 7: Groups of Power of the Immortals
by Marco Dalmonte English translation by Gary DaviesBeyond grouping themselves in pantheons, being associated with a specific race or civilisation on the Prime Plane in order to protect or influence it, and belonging to a specific Sphere of Power, the Immortals tend also to form various Groups, each of which possesses a common organisational aim for all its members, each of whom agree to spontaneously undertake the objectives. Not all the groups of Immortals are known by all Immortals, seen that they tend to act with secret aims, and certainly most of them are unknown to mortals, whilst others are official organisations recognised from the five spheres, and often (particularly in the case of the Councils) have power over all the Immortals, as their decisions are binding for all the Immortal Spheres.
Below are the more famous and active (secretly or openly) groups of power at the start of 1001 AC, referred to in official products of TSR/WotC regarding Mystara (in particular the Wrath of the Immortals). The schematic tables give the name of the group, it's organisation type (shown in bold italics and between parenthesis), and from left to right the columns list the members in order of importance (the leader is shown in bold), their own Sphere, their level and Immortal grade, and underneath is shown a summary of the group's objectives.
Ring of Fire

Only active during The Immortal's Fury (1001-1009 AC), it is composed from those Immortals that, after having discovered the Radiance, stop the draining away of the Multiverse's magical energy (and therefore stop the undermining of the Sphere of Energy power), they also want to interrupt the exploitation of the Radiance and to stop the experiments of Rad and his known allies.
Brotherhood of the Shadow

Only active during The Immortal's Fury (1001-1009 AC), it tries to increase the conflict between the factions of Ixion and Rad and also between the nations of the world, taking the side of the faction losing at that moment, or causing new problems to arise.
Fellowship of the Star

Only active during The Immortal's Fury (1001-1009 AC), the fellowship is made up of those Immortals that believe it proper to protect and continue the studies on the power of the Radiance and on the effects of alternative sources of magic within the Multiverse. Many of its Immortals seek also to oppose the current top hierarchs of the various spheres and of/by/from change the rules and Immortals traditions, that they believe too antiquated and stagnant.

This group, active from times immemorial, is formed only from neutral representatives of the hierarchy of the five spheres (who rotate control) and its purpose is to investigate any intrusions into the Multiverse from creatures or peculiar effects from other dimensions or realities, and to take measures in case of real threat

This group, active since the creation of the Hollow World, works in order to save races and civilisations from extinction on the outer world, transferring them into the Hollow World, and protect the balance of the Hollow World from any attempt of external manipulation.

This group has been active since the time following the Carnifex Tyranny and in it the Immortals of Hierarch grade rotate control between themselves. It controls the events that happen on Mystara, elect the observers that report regarding any transgressions of the Immortal's directive in the Prime Plane, and identifies and punishes all the Immortals that endanger the planet.
