A cross between a Dragon and a Dire Wolf, these horrors can be found in any temperate region, but were originally created in Glantri. Their species can breed with other wolves and there is a 20% chance that the offspring will be another Dracowarg.
The body of a Dracowarg is identical to an ordinary wolf except for a mane of colored hair that grows along their back and small scales that cover the top of their heads. The colors that have been documented so far are red, blue and black. Their leathery wings are dark grey.
The breath of a Dracowarg is linked to the coloration of it’s mane; Fire for red, lightning for blue and acid for black and always in a line stretching for 5’ per hd. Their breath weapon does 1d4 damage per hd (save versus dragon breath for half damage).
These predators are not used to taking damage and once it has been reduced to half its original hp the Dracowarg’s morale drops to 6 and will most likely flee combat. They are intelligent and will stalk prey as any other wolf would.
Having Draconic blood these creatures covet treasure and if found in their lair will fight to the death to protect their hoard.
Dracowarg pups are highly coveted by Magic-Users and it is known that their breath weapon only develops upon reaching adulthood.
