However, must agree to a contract [geas] and will work for the school for 4 years after graduation: casting spells for the school (school takes in the gold).
The Wizard will get their spellbook [Held by the school until geas completion], Backpack, basic starting gear, 2 weeks of rations, waterskin, wineskin, and 40 GP to start with after completing the contract (geas).

A sad, Magic School but it still teaches the basics. In 4 years, the student will be a Wizard 1st level then the long struggle begins: of casting for the school for 4 years. However, some villages or towns may send a youth here to be taught for free plus the 4 years. Then the villages gets back a Wizard in the end. Of course, some poor students may be forced to select this option.
