Thoughts on Gold Piece Scaling

by Aoz

I understand difference in the human coins of Mystara. However, what if it is not a human coin??

A human merchant from Darokin receives a shipment of a single giant coin from the mountain-dwelling giants. The giant coin is the size of a human shield large amulet, The merchant wants to understand the Giant gold piece and gets out his scale.

If we have to go by another product... AD&D 2e Giantcraft: A coin in the example weighs 2 stones. Two stones weigh a total of 28 pounds (or 448 ounces).

Real Life 28 pound Bar of Gold

This is just an example. Imagine the same merchant getting a gold coin shipment from a race like the Cayma(s). A race only 1 feet tall may have small coins.

Tiny Coins

Just some things to think about.
