Gnome Artificer

by Thraic Ogmund

Hello! A short bit ago, I posted a few polls about the artificer and alchemist classes that I was looking at making. I am now posting a rough draft of the Gnome Artificer Class. A few things to understand going in:

1) I started with the Artificer class from Low Fantasy Gaming, and tweaked it. If you are familiar with that system, don't be surprised if large parts of this look awfully familiar;

2) I built this for a fairly-heavily house-ruled BECMI game that strays from race-as-class without getting into mutli-classing and seeks to provide the primary races with classes that are analogous to each other, not exactly the same;

3) I anticipate using hit dice from AD&D (e.g. Fighters use d10, clerics use d8, thieves use d6, mages use d4) just to provide additional differentiation among these classes;

4) The feedback that I am most interested in is game-balance issues as compared to the BECMI classes that we all know and love and anything that you think might have been overlooked or that might improve the class; and

5) Ignore the parenthetical numbers that follow the different specs. This has to do with how I attempted to keep this class balanced.
