Expanding the Atruaghin Clans: Bear Tribe Kachina Maker (Artificer 5e)

by Marc Saindon

A quick idea to give the Atruaghin more fantasy elements would be to have a Construct specialist inspired by Hopi, Zuni and Navajo cultures, and it gives something besides a Ranger to the Atruaghin. This artificer is capable of create task-oriented automatons called Kachina dolls: a guard Kachina could store the Alarm spell and protect a home or camp. At greater levels, he might have a version of the Magen spell, animate Living Statues and craft Golems. Materials involved would clay, wood, bones, but I expect also gold and silver be integrated as well - but not iron, which may be tied to both the mineral-poor nature of the plateau, and perhaps that the Kachina Maker calls upon the fey energies to work some of his craftsmanship.

a note on their real-world counterpart as religious symbols:

turn undead is basically from real-world christianity's 'vade retro'. ylaruam's nahmeh is kind of fantasy islam. if being based on real-world makes it void, then nothing is usuable in a fantasy setting.
