Amendhella (Mandy, to her friends, Amanda on stage and to her admirers) is the fourth of Queldommages daughters. In certain ways she takes after him more than any of her sisters. Queldommages own mother observed that “Beauty skips a generation” at Mandy’s Coming of Age Ball, when the grand doors of the Ballroom opened to reveal this ethereal, immaculately presented beauty on the arm of her rounded, frumpy father.

She was educated at home in Cockatrice, not yet having blossomed into a more worldly young woman who would thrive in the Capital, alongside many young gentlemen of Ambur who either by choice or lack of wealth also did not study in Sundsvall, who were ever in awe of her. Thus she learned to rebut the advances of over-confident male wizards from a young age. She did accept some invitations to the city of Starpoint, where she became enthralled with the culture of street entertainment, musicianship, and theatrical performance. From that point, her future on stage was a fait accompli, having the extraordinary grace and subtlety of her father and the magnetic beauty of her mother. She is a convincing and physical performer, constantly in demand for stage and musical productions in Starpoint, Sundsvaal, Aquas, Draco, indeed anywhere there are boards to tread. And such performances have become a jumping off point for suitors, from peasants to wealthy merchants and princes, to begin a hopeful (and thus far uniformly unrequited) quest to win her heart. She has dallied, she has never fallen.

Her showbusiness life has introduced her to a wider range of personalities and lifestyles than many of her standing would have encountered, and she has long been enthralled by those coming to Alphatia from foreign lands, in particular the nomadic peoples of the Isle of Dawn and Norwold, who have a distinctive and colourful culture and are able to pass across the border between Alphatian and Thyatian territories without arousing suspicion. Through her contacts in that community, she has a depth of information about the border regions and the comings and goings therein that would put the Alphatian security services to shame, but of more interest to her she has learned forms of entertainment (fortune telling and styles of dance and acrobatics) that give her a huge edge over other performers in metropolitan Alphatia.

At a family dinner recently, her younger sister Carlotina (after yet another tempestuous but ultimately failed relationship) bitterly asked Mandy why she was always so choosy. “Because I can be, dear. Because I can be” was her reply.

Physical Appearance: Having the typical stature of her family, she stands at 5’ 10”, and somehow manages to pull off the trick of being both slim and perfectly voluptuous at the same time. While of common Alphatian stock, for performances she often varies her skin tone and hair colour. Unlike some of her sisters and most in Alphatian society, she usually relies upon her natural looks rather than makeup, perhaps donning a little mascara and some lipstick before leaving home in the morning and still outshining most others. She favours simple but bright coloured clothing styles.

Personality: Few people know the real woman behind the actress and performer. She is happy and friendly by nature, but has a certain cynicism as to the motivations of others that may on occasion be unfounded but does serve to protect her. She is at heart a genuine and caring person, but to be an actress and performer is her first instinct and love. It is perhaps more apt to ask, what is her personality today?

Items Usually Carried: She’s not a great combat mage but understands that she must be ready to fight for her own honour rather than out-source that to someone who will expect something in return. Weapons: She carries wands of magic missiles, fireball, and icebolt in a single wand case at her belt. She has not ignored her martial training and is an expert with the dagger, carrying two daggers +3, one of speeding and the other of slowing. Protections: A ring of protection +3, an heirloom that belonged to her grandmother, is always to be seen on her left hand. She also carries a scarab of protection and may don an elven cloak that was a gift from one of her many admirers. Other Items Carried: Mandy favours elegance in her selection of jewels and prefers delicately crafted silver and platinum jewellery incorporating gemstones that complement the colouration she has chosen for the day. She carries a certain amount of spending money (usually 200-300gp) in one of her pouches of holding (she has two, with a capacity of 2000cn, weighing only 20cn when full), but she considers conspicuous consumption to be rather vulgar, and indeed is rarely asked to pay for anything. Of the many magical items available to her she always carries a ring of glamour, potions of invisibility, healing and diminution. She has a hat of disguise in case of needing to take on another roll or having to make an escape, and just in case she hears something new and exciting she has a scroll of musical notation. Mundane items she carries in her pouches of holding include a make up kit, perfume, a small mirror, tarot cards, a tuning fork, opera glasses, sheet music, a small harp, sheet music and a stand, and at least one or two scripts.
