Land of Maidh

by ViktorD20

So with my ever growing pile of Mystaran projects, I figured I might as well start a new one, this time on the continent of Skothar. The continent has insultingly little information on it, and I wanted to set it right, so I hyperfixated as hard as I could, and began working on the first Mini-Gaz of Skothar.

The culture was an easy choice, I admire Filipino culture and one of my players, conveniently enough, is from the Philippines so the puzzle pieces fell together all too easily. I approached him about being the awesomeness editor of my project, and he was more than happy to help. He immediately began pouring information on me in such quantities I was lucky to contain it all in 2 pages of notes. Then the real writing began.

So far I have only finished the timeline of the land which we ended up calling Maidh (Ma-i), based on the old name of the Philippines. The timeline ties the area to the serpent-men which I talked about in a separate thread, who also inhabit the region, for which I chose Tangor Bay.

The artists I have on board for the Mini-Gaz are people I have worked with in the past, and can safely say know what they're doing. I myself took on the burden of cartography, and I think the result was fairly good, although I may have been off with the scale of the map... oh well, someone's gonna point it out if it's wrong.

Once the Mini-Gaz is in a publishable state, I will make sure to post it on here, and I can finally move back to my other projects, including the fan supplement Haldemar's Handy Handbook of Heroism. It will use 5th edition as its system, but dedicated BECMI players can always convert it to their liking.

And to wrap it all up, here's the first art piece and the map of the area.
