Magic Power Sources

by Aoz

Here are a few ideas for magic power source.

Consumption or convert calories into magic energy: using spells burns off calories making the eater hungry for Food — the being also has a Hyperactive Metabolism. I still like this power for the Troll Queen.

Emotions Power that charge the caster's magic similar to mana (must select or random).

Pact Magic (Fiend, Titan, Demon, Burrower, ect..): Their power comes from someone or something else.

Techno-Magic: Alternative version of draining or use energy stored in device or generates energy by destroying an element (Like burning wood or coal).

Chemical : Artificial Serum/Elixir/or drug that bestows magical power at the price of transmuting the drinker into a monster or has some other negative side-effect(s).

Charge Type: Relic, Artifact, or sometimes a being (without enough power to make a Pact.)

-Spell Point System similar to Mana. Bestowed Caster Gets 2 Spell Points per Level (Reserve) and can cast from a limited spell selection depending on Relic, Artifact or being. A Example is 3rd level Spell costs 3 spell points. However, the Bestowed Caster can only cast as high as their level divide by 3 (Round down and minimum 1st level) An example is 21st could cast 1st to 7th level Spells with a 42 Spell Points Reserve.

--Recharging is the draw back. You must touch the Relic, Artifact, or being (maybe add a mantra to the process). If this Bestowed Caster goes on a mission away from their power source then when spell point reserve is used up...that caster cannot recover spell points until reunited with the source of their magic.
