Mystara Character Alignment

by Charles Rose

I've been toying with some ideas about alignment in Mystara. They haven't been playtested, but I thought I'd share anyway. This was inspired by Charles Taylor's "Sphere Alignment System".

I went in a somewhat different direction than Taylor did. I also departed from canon in a few parts, since some material on the Spheres doesn't make sense to me. What I have here seems intuitive to me, and I think it has good roleplaying potential.

One thing I find interesting about this: the Wood alignment is the natural one for druids, but it is also the closest thing to a "Good" alignment in the system. But at the same time, there is still room to give a druidic religion a sinister twist. Wood doesn't prohibit human sacrifice, for instance. I like that. Gray is more interesting than black and white.

Here is what I've come up with. It is intended for players, if/when I DM a game. Any thoughts?
