Reinventing Port Tenobar

by Marc Saindon

Rather than set up Tenobar as "Discount Athenos", maybe work in the lore that the DDC made a significant achievement in the past by creating a buffer zone between the Atruaghin's Jaguar Clans (Tiger doesn't make sense), Darokin and Malpheggi Swamp by recruiting refugees and rebels from the Children of the Jaguar. This Azcan diaspora in Southwest Darokin helped built Port Tenobar (which already has the 'Teno' of Tenochtitlan...). Their culture is a mix of the Jaguars' nahuatl-like language and latin parts of Darokin's italian equivalent, so it accidentally re-created mexican spanish. If the Krugel Horde is Pancho Villa Mexico, Tenobar is more like Yucatan or Acapulco. Religion-wise, the Tenobarios have abandoned the darker gods of their former homelands, but have kept some of the lighter ones (like the 400 rabbits) while integrating Darokinian deities.

Nearby Fort Nar (which appears in Gaz14) would be called 'the Presidio' by the locals.
