Spiritus Covenant

by Aoz

Master Aurel Gier 15th Level Wizard, owner of the Glantrian Wizard Group called Gier Unternehmen. After observing a group of students
uncover the arts of Espiritaria and the students that founded the Feromancy. He and his wife found some old records in the Great School of Magic then went on an archeology dig near the Broken Lands. He discovered an ancient grimoire of almost foreign magics. In the summer of 1016 AC, this spell will be developed; however, sadly for Magic Users only those that study from the ancient grimoire can learn the spell.

Spiritus Covenant
Level: 5
Range: Touch
Duration: Permanent until discharged
Components: V, S, M (gemstones worth at least 1000+ dc)
Casting Time: 1 turn

Description:
Spiritus Covenant creates a magical sphere when the caster touches gemstones and casts the spell. The gemstones are destroyed in the casting of the spell. The energy emitted by the sphere is highly enticing to spirits (Spirit World or World Yurt). The sphere hovers randomly within 60 feet of the magic user.

The unique aspect of this spell lies in its ability to entice entities (spirits) into a binding contract. However, be warned the spirit can destroy the offering and the spellcaster is out the value of the gemstones. If an entity agrees to the terms, it must follow the controller’s verbal commands to the best of its ability. However, it only needs to heed the controller’s call periodically. The caster can issue complex orders or set conditional actions for the entity.

Spirit Types and Usage:
The Type of service or binding contract will depend on spirit type and alignment.

Sphere Properties:
-The sphere provides XP to the spirit equal to its gold piece value.
-If the original caster is killed, the sphere disappears.
-The sphere has AC 10, hit points equal to 1 per 1000 dc value, and floats slowly above the ground.
-Successfully casting dispel magic upon the sphere destroys it.
-If the entity agrees to terms and absorbs the sphere, the contract is created.
-A single spirit entity can benefit from this spell only once every 1000 years.
-If the spirit is defeated on the Prime Plane, the controller cannot summon it for equal to Hit Dice x3 days. Example a defeated 10 Hit Dice Spirit cannot be summoned for 30 days.

Note:
The spellcaster can even transfer the spirit contract to other being with another spell. The transfer of the contract spirit does not negate the need for the new controller to understand the terms of the binding. Misuse or commands that go against the entity’s nature may result in unpredictable behavior or negative side effects for the controller.
