A robber fly is a 3' long giant fly with black and yellow stripes. From a distance, robber flies look like giant bees. They are carnivores, and may attack adventurers. However, they prefer giant bees as food, and are immune to their poison.3

COMBAT

Robber flies are patient hunters. They often hide in shadows and wait to surprise prey.3

Lunge (Ex): If a robber fly charges a foe, it can make a full attack.

*Skills: a robber fly's stripes give it a +4 racial bonus to Hide checks made in wooded or grassy areas.

The robber fly first appeared in the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Rulebook, by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson (1981).
