Town Under Siege

by Rafael Lopes Vivian

Inspired by Tower of Doom's second stage, I made a battlemap of the Town Under Siege, split in four areas. Shit, this took far too long to finish, it's not even great, but then I had to learn much as I went. Although having several areas of the town makes sense for the DM, I chose to put them all in the same piece because of reasons.

So, following my series of battlemaps inspired by Tower of Doom, this is a remake of an earlier map I posted here. Someone pointed out the second stage was in Nemiston and, well, Nemiston can't have docks like I drew, but it does have a sort of canal in-game, so I replaced the docks with that. I was afraid I was in deep trouble but can't complain, it wasn't as hard as I expected. This didn't change the adventure writeup very much either so, I guess it's like a different option of the same, people can decide to do either one and move the mission around.

This is 40x52 squares 5ft. each, done in Dungeondraft, with assets by 2 Minute Tabletop, Essendi, Daydreams & Tinkering and Gnome Factory. The map is divided in 4 sections, meaning the GM can narrate the events and place the characters in whatever part of town he prefers depending on their actions.

Approaching the Town Under Siege, the PCs hear desperate cries for help. A group of people runs away from their homes, and smoke starts to rise from behind the buildings. A few meters ahead, guards fend off raiding kobolds.

To drive the monsters from the Town, the group must face the leader of the raiders: a very angry ogre. He is gathering his loot in the market square. To get there, the group must get through the battle in the streets and the canal. Alternatively, the group can get a shortcut to the market square through the inn.
