Trinkets

by Håvard

Trinkets is probably my favorite thing from 5E, but easy to use with any edition. For those who are not familiar with the concept, 5E presents a list of minor items that are mostly useless, but which can be used to add some flavor to a character's background or could lead to some adventure seed. I always make my players roll on the 1d% chart to determine their starting trinket.

Could we come up with a list of uniquely Mystaran trinkets? Note, there should be no long descriptions. Just one sentence at most.

+1 Worn-off coin, vaguely recognisable as a low denomination, but probably too worn to be accepted;
+2 Crude shape of a horsey, of no particular artistry;
+3 Gnome tool, only recognisable for a gnome, you'd discard it, except that you might meet a Gnome who needed it;
+4 Hook with wear marks to a specific door (door not included);
+5 Hand-held sun-dial; not a clue what I was thinking about that one: You need a fixed spot, or a fixed moment / otherwise, all you can see is that you've just passed midday;
+6 A Meverov emblem, worn;
+7 Piece of utterly dehydrated Zzonga-fruit
+8 Part of a label of a bottle saying "...nest Snake Oil from far o...";
+9 Old metal ring, of the construction variety; no splicing involved;
+10 Very wide-toothed comb, with a rather Darokinian style of handle;
+11 Ends of string, tied together into a typical Sea-elven knot;
+12 Creature whistle (creature not included);
+13 Part of a fire striker, probably still usable for the owner, though probably not for anyone else;

Oh, dear; a rather unfortunate number:
+14 Piece of typical Ylari sandcake, though in this case with added bits of Rockhome, and a sprinkling of rose-buttons.
