Yasuko thoughts on a "tropical Japan"

by Marc Saindon

The Jungle Coast (northern Davania) seems to be too tropical to host a fantasy Japana (nevermind Ylaruam next Scandinavia), but this can be rationalized as Japan stretches far on the latitude side, and while core islands are expected too be temperate, the far south, like Okinawa and the Ryukyu Islands. These areas have subtropical ecosystems, endemic wildlife (notably frogs, lizards, bats, snakes), distinct culture and even their own moment in history as an independent kingdom, which could be mirrored by the relationship between "Core" imperial Myoshima and the more distant colonial Yasuko trying to assert its independence.

Perhaps in the future the Myoshima navy invades, builds a "Moon Bridge" (a portal to Patera shaped like a large torii gate), but build on the cosmopolitan success of the Yasukan Rakastas. And then, as Myoshima expands, it runs into the Thyatian Empire Hinterlands, and we get samurais versus the roman legion.
